Akhilesh Yadav is raising doubts on reservation for Dalit vote bank

Lucknow. Bharatiya Janata Party and Modi government are standing with the decision of Supreme Court regarding quota within quota in ST-SC reservation. On the other hand, Modi government has refused to accept the decision of Supreme Court to exclude creamy layer of this society from the reservation scope of SC/ST Act, terming it as anti-constitutional. Despite this, the leaders of opposition parties are not refraining from attacking Modi government. SP President Akhilesh Yadav is taking every step to show his party bigger than BJP on the issue of reservation within reservation, which can benefit him politically. In this sequence, Akhilesh Yadav said in a statement that the main objective of any kind of reservation should be the empowerment of the neglected society, not the division or disintegration of that society. This disregards the basic principle of reservation. He said that for PDA, the constitution is a lifesaver, while reservation is life breath. This statement of Akhilesh is considered important in view of the recent decision of Supreme Court in the matter of sub-classification of reservation. Earlier, BSP supremo Mayawati had also held a press conference opposing reservation within reservation (sub-classification) and said that the intentions of SP and Congress are also not clear in this matter. Akhilesh Yadav said in an official statement issued on August 11 that the discrimination and unequal opportunities that have been going on for generations cannot be bridged by the changes that have come in a few generations. Reservation is the constitutional way to empower and strengthen the exploited and deprived society. This is what will bring about change. There is no need to change its provisions. He said that the BJP government every time tries to weaken the fight for reservation through its vague statements. When there is pressure from various components of the PDA, it pretends to back down by showing superficial sympathy. Akhilesh said that the internal thinking of the BJP has always been against reservation. The credibility of the BJP on the issue of reservation has become zero. Overall, with the help of reservation, Akhilesh Yadav wants to fight the BJP and retain the Dalit vote bank that had left the BSP and joined him in the Lok Sabha elections.
