Siddaramaiah’s announcement, will build 100 houses for the victims in Wayanad
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday announced that his government will build 100 houses for the victims of landslide-hit Wayanad. On the social media post ‘X’ Siddaramaiah said that in the light of the tragic landslide in Wayanad, Karnataka stands in solidarity with Kerala. He said that I have assured CM Pinarayi Vijayan of our support and announced that Karnataka will build 100 houses for the victims. Together we will rebuild and restore hope. Sharing Siddaramaiah’s post on ‘X’, Congress leader and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi said that he is very grateful to the people and government of Karnataka for their generous support during this difficult time in Wayanad. He said that your commitment to build 100 houses for the victims of the tragic landslide is an important step towards rehabilitation efforts. The compassion and solidarity of Indians is the strength that Wayanad needs right now. Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra visited the landslide-affected area of Choorlamala in Wayanad on Thursday. Vadra also thanked Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for this move. He wrote, “Thank you Siddaramaiah ji and the people of Karnataka for this gesture of compassion and humanity.” Meanwhile, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the search and rescue operation, which began on July 30, has reached its final stage. He said that 206 people are still missing. The search operation in the landslide-affected areas continued for the fifth consecutive day on Saturday. More than 1,300 rescue workers, heavy machinery and state-of-the-art equipment have been deployed to search for people still trapped in the debris.
