Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 25 announced that for the first time, all questions in the Combined Civil Services Examination (Main) will be available in Assamese in addition to English. The exam will begin tomorrow (July 26) with this important change. The decision of the Assam Public Service Commission is aimed at improving access for Assamese-speaking candidates, a historic step in the education system of the region. Speaking to X, CM Sarma wrote Combined Civil Services Examination (Main) is starting from tomorrow. As per the instructions of the Government of Assam, for the first time in history, all questions will be in Assamese in addition to English. This step follows the instructions of the Government of Assam and has been implemented by the Assam Public Service Commission. Sharing the news on Twitter, Sarma praised the commission for the historic decision and highlighted its significance for Assamese-speaking candidates.The upcoming exam will consist of six papers and will be held on July 26, 27 and 28. This progressive move represents a significant shift in making the state civil services more inclusive.
