Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised Budget 2024 for its substantial allocation for the southern state, saying the Centre’s support will greatly help in rebuilding Andhra. Naidu also lauded the Budget for prioritising the development of the new capital, Polavaram irrigation project, industrial development and upliftment of backward areas. In a tweet, Naidu thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for addressing the critical needs of Andhra Pradesh in the Budget. Naidu said, “Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for recognising the needs of our state and focusing on the development of the capital, Polavaram, industrial nodes and backward areas in AP in the Union Budget for FY 24-25. This support from the Centre will greatly help in rebuilding Andhra Pradesh. I congratulate you for the presentation of this progressive and confidence-boosting Budget.” CM Naidu said that this budget has worked to give oxygen to the state which had gone on ventilator. Minister Nara Lokesh, who is Naidu’s son, also expressed gratitude for the funds set aside for the development of the state. These will greatly help AP in achieving its development and social objectives. He said that it is a matter of great pride for the people of Andhra Pradesh that our struggle has been recognised, and a special and holistic package has been provided, covering all the important sectors like industrial development, infrastructure, irrigation and human resource development. I would like to make a special mention of the generous contribution made towards Amaravati and Polavaram. Today will be marked as a red letter day in the history of the new state. This is the first step towards moving forward together to build the state of our dreams.
