Foreign forces harmed BJP? Shivraj Chauhan speaks on Lok Sabha election results
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has made a statement that has created a political stir. In fact, while addressing the state working committee meeting in Rajasthan, Chauhan said that some ‘foreign hands’ are active among the opposition, who do not want the BJP to win the elections in any way. Speaking at the state BJP working committee meeting in Jaipur, the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh said Our opponents – which, it is true, also include foreign forces – try to ensure that there is no BJP government in our country. The senior BJP leader said that the pace at which India is growing is not going down well with our opponents. He claimed that many forces are trying to harm the BJP at any cost. We need to be cautious of them. Describing the opposition Congress as a “lying machine”, Chauhan argued that the BJP suffered losses in the Lok Sabha elections because some forces had interfered then. In his address at the BJP Working Committee meeting, Shivraj lashed out at the Congress and criticised Rahul Gandhi for allegedly claiming that Hindus are very violent. He argued that this reflects a childish mindset. Chouhan claimed that some foreign forces sitting abroad whose interests are being harmed due to honest policies are keen that a government like the old one is formed. Rajasthan election in-charge Vinay Sahasrabuddhe reiterated Chouhan’s point and said that this could be one of the factors that led to a reduction in the number of seats of the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This was the first state working committee meeting after the Lok Sabha election results were announced on June 4. The meeting was attended by around 8000 BJP functionaries and workers. Analysing the loss of 11 out of the total 25 seats in the state, Sahasrabuddhe said that the party has lost around 65 seats in the Lok Sabha and the party is on an introspection drive as everyone should take responsibility for the mistakes.
