We talk about the common man, PM Modi only talks about ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Kharge attacks the Prime Minister in Rajya Sabha
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday remarked that the President’s address to the joint session of Parliament had neither any direction nor any vision and was just full of words of praise for the government. Speaking in the Rajya Sabha on the motion of thanks on the President’s address, Kharge said that there was nothing for Dalits, minorities and backward classes in President Draupadi Murmu’s speech. He said that the President is the most important part of Parliament, we respect the President. The Congress President said that this year the President’s first address was in January and the second in June. The first address was for the elections and the second was its copy. He said that there was nothing for Dalits, minorities and backward classes in his address. There was neither any vision nor any direction in the President’s address. Like last time, it was full of words of praise for the government. Kharge appealed to the Rajya Sabha Chairman to restore the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Baba Saheb Ambedkar and other leaders to their original places in the Parliament House complex. Kharge said in the Rajya Sabha that Manipur has been burning for the last one year but the Prime Minister, who is an expert in giving slogans, did not go to Manipur. Opposition parties talk about the common man while Prime Minister Modi only talks about ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Earlier, the Indian team was congratulated in the Rajya Sabha on Monday on India’s historic title win in the T20 World Cup. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar also said that the whole country is proud of their achievement. Congratulating the Indian cricket team, he said, “Saturday is recorded as a glorious day in the history of India when India won its second T20 World title by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final in Bridgetown, Barbados.”
