Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that in the current Lok Sabha elections, the public will make the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) yearn for 140 seats. The former CM gave this statement after an election rally in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. He said that the voting that has started against BJP will continue till the Purvanchal elections and by the end of the seventh phase, BJP will be wiped out. He said that the public will yearn for 140 seats. Due to this, he claimed that the construction of airport, Purvanchal Expressway etc. is the work of Samajwadi Party. A huge crowd is gathering in the rallies of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav. Last week, Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi left a rally in Prayagraj without addressing him as their supporters stormed the stage. A Congress leader from Uttar Pradesh and former Union minister believes that the SP-Congress alliance can win at least 30 out of 80 seats in the country’s most populous state. At Yadav’s public meeting in Lalganj Lok Sabha constituency on Tuesday, SP supporters broke security protocols and barricades and moved towards the stage. After a stampede-like situation, the police dispersed the crowd and controlled the situation. As soon as Yadav started addressing the people, the crowd went out of control. The public rally was being organized for the SP candidate from the Lalganj Lok Sabha seat, which Mr Yadav’s party is trying to win for the first time since Daroga Prasad’s success in 2004. In 2019, this seat was won by Sangeeta Azad from Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party. In this election, Samajwadi Party has fielded Daroga Prasad against BJP’s Neelam Sonkar and BSP’s Indu Chaudhary.
