India will achieve the target of eliminating tuberculosis this year: Health Minister, Nadda
Bhubaneswar. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said that India will achieve the target of eliminating tuberculosis (TB) from the country by the end of this year. Nadda said this while inaugurating the 9th National Summit on Good and Replicable Practices and Innovations in Public Health Care System in Puri, Odisha. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has organized the two-day conference. Nadda said, according to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), India has to eliminate TB by 2030. But, we are fully prepared to achieve this target by 2025. He said, during the 100-day TB Free India campaign going on in 455 districts across the country, we have already identified five lakh TB patients. A comprehensive campaign is going on. We are going to cover all the aspiring districts and aspirational blocks under the campaign so that we can eliminate tuberculosis by the end of 2025.
