Hooda demanded assessment of damage to crops due to unseasonal rains
Rohtak. Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that unseasonal rains and canal breakage have caused large-scale damage to crops in the state. He demanded that the state government immediately get special girdawari (revenue assessment) done, so that farmers can get timely compensation. Hooda said that farmers from many villages met him, whose crops have been damaged. He said that the condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on an indefinite fast demanding a legal guarantee of MSP for crops, is critical and his life is precious. Hooda said, “The government should immediately give up its stubborn attitude and start talks and find a solution to this serious matter as soon as possible.” He also said that the demands of the farmers are reasonable and they are not making any new demands. The former Chief Minister said, “The Center has already accepted their demands in principle and the government itself had promised them a legal guarantee of MSP.” In response to a question related to the poor law and order situation in Haryana, Hooda said that the law and order situation has completely collapsed. He said, “Unless the law and order situation improves, the state cannot develop. Due to unemployment and poor law and order, the problem of drug addiction has spread throughout the state. The news of more youth dying from drug addiction in Haryana than in Punjab is in front of everyone.” On a question related to the statement of former Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal, Hooda said that Manohar Lal himself was an “accidental CM”. He said, “The BJP government has no achievements of its own. In the 10 years of the party’s rule, Haryana has reached the lowest level in terms of per capita income, per capita investment and employment.
