Congress uproar against Ramesh Bidhuri’s statement, BJP condemns attack on state office
A BJP worker was injured during clashes at the Telangana BJP office in Nampally on Tuesday after Youth Congress workers allegedly pelted stones at the saffron party’s office. The protest was triggered by controversial remarks made by BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri, who is contesting from Kalkaji in Delhi, about Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The protesters raised slogans and attempted to storm the BJP office but were stopped by the police. Tensions escalated when BJP workers clashed with Youth Congress workers, resulting in a brawl. State BJP general secretary Kasam Venkateswarlu accused Congress workers of plotting the attack and termed them Congress goons. He criticised the police for inaction and blamed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and state Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud for the incident. Venkateswarlu described the attack as a cowardly act and warned that the Congress will have to face serious consequences if such acts continue. Union minister and Telangana BJP state president Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the attack, calling it an act of cowardice and accusing Congress workers of using violence to express their disapproval. He accused the police of turning a blind eye as the attack took place in full public view. Reddy warned that despite the party’s commitment to non-violent politics, BJP workers would not tolerate such attacks.
