Siddaramaiah hits out at PM Modi for ‘internal strife’ remark in Congress

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his statement that the Congress was spending its time in infighting. Siddaramaiah asked if Modi had misread the reports and was speaking on the Congress when it was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that was facing the most infighting. “Prime Minister Modi, don’t sit in a glass house and throw stones. There is no need to worry about infighting in our party. Whenever we have come to power, we have always completed our term,” Siddaramaiah said in a statement. Modi had attacked the Congress, saying if it came to power in Haryana even by mistake, its infighting would put stability and development at stake and the state would be ruined. Siddaramaiah said Modi had wrongly claimed that there was infighting in the Karnataka Congress. He said that he probably got confused about the names of the parties and said Congress instead of BJP. He said that he requests the Prime Minister to issue a clarification and clear this misunderstanding.
