Rahul Gandhi will appear in Sultanpur court today in defamation case
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will appear in Sultanpur MP-MLA (MP/MLA) court on Friday in a defamation case. Congress district unit president Abhishek Singh Rana said on Thursday that Rahul will land at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow at 9 am on Friday, from where he will leave for Sultanpur by car and will appear in the MP-MLA court. Local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vijay Mishra had filed a defamation case on August 4, 2018, accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of making objectionable remarks against then BJP president and current Home Minister Amit Shah in Bengaluru in 2018. The court had granted bail to Rahul in this case on February 20. Special Magistrate Shubham Verma has directed Rahul to appear in court on July 26 to record his statement in the case.
