Rahul Gandhi called Modi 3.0’s first budget a ‘kursi bachao’ budget, Kharge said – this is not for the development of the country
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday criticised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s Union Budget, saying it was aimed at pleasing BJP allies and “cronies”. The Congress leader called the document a “kursi bachao” budget and alleged that it was copied from the Congress party’s Lok Sabha election manifesto. Rahul wrote on X-post that “kursi bachao” budget. “Hollow promises were made to allies at the cost of other states to please them. Our friends were made happy, ‘AA’ was given benefits, but no relief was given to the common Indian,” Rahul Gandhi posted on ‘X’. He alleged, “Congress’ manifesto and some previous budgets have been ‘copied-pasted’.” Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that this budget is only for two people… They (BJP government) make a lot of promises but nothing happens. He also claimed that this is a ‘copycat budget’ in which the government has not been able to copy the Congress’s ‘Nyay’ agenda properly. Kharge posted on ‘X’, “The copycat budget of Modi government could not even copy the Congress’s Nyay agenda properly! The Modi government’s budget is distributing half-hearted freebies to dupe its alliance partners so that the NDA survives. This is not a budget for the country’s progress, it is a Modi government Bachao budget.” He said that after 10 years, limited announcements have been made for the youth who are bearing the rhetoric of two crore jobs annually. Congress MP Randeep Singh Surjewala said that this budget is a jhula budget. It is a complete disappointment. He claimed that there is no relief for farmers. There is no mention of job creation in this budget. SC ST and OBC have been completely wiped out by this budget. He also said that the middle class and working class have not got any relief in tax exemptions for the last 10 years. Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda said that this budget was completely disappointing… there was nothing for farmers in the budget… only Andhra Pradesh and Bihar were mentioned in the budget… they forgot about Haryana… if they forget Haryana, the people of Haryana will forget the election symbol lotus (BJP party symbol).
