Sanjay Raut makes a big allegation: India-US trade deal done to protect Gautam Adani

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday claimed that the India-US trade agreement was done to benefit Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani. He also alleged that the agreement compromises national interest and farmers’ welfare. The agreement has resulted in an 18% reduction in US tariffs on Indian goods, benefiting sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, and engineering. Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Sanjay Raut said, “The entire opposition walked out of the Rajya Sabha. National interest and the interests of farmers have been compromised. I think this trade agreement has been done to save Gautam Adani, and we will protest against it from the streets to Parliament.” Echoing similar concerns, Arvind Sawant questioned the government’s economic priorities, citing the Union Budget. He said, “Have you seen your budget? In that budget, you have imposed zero percent duty. All the goods are coming from America. America imposes a 10% tax on Pakistan, while earlier it used to impose a 3% tax on us.”
