BJP government should apologize for insulting the saints: Ashok Gehlot

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday condemned the alleged misbehavior of the police with Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government should apologize for this insult to the saints. Gehlot said, “The misbehavior of the police with the revered Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati during the Magh Mela on the holy land of Prayagraj, and his subsequent decision to sit on a dharna after giving up food and water, is extremely unfortunate and condemnable.” The senior Congress leader wrote on ‘X’, “If this is the condition of the highest-ranking saints under the rule of the BJP government, which does politics in the name of religion, then it is a grave sin. Instead of the administration apologizing in its arrogance of power, serving a notice to the saint is proof of ‘when destruction is imminent, wisdom is reversed’.” Gehlot said that the BJP government should immediately apologize for this insult to the saints.
