Don’t put undue pressure on BLOs: Akhilesh Yadav

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday demanded that the Uttar Pradesh government publish the work done so far on the special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls and ensure that booth-level officers (BLOs) are not subjected to ‘undue pressure’. In a post on ‘X’, Yadav demanded that the data on the work completed on the SIR in the state be published. He said, “The undue pressure on BLOs should be removed, and additional authorized personnel should be deployed to complete this work within the stipulated timeframe.” Yadav said it should be ensured that those in power and their associates are not involved in this work through the back door, now or in the future. The SP chief demanded, “A thorough investigation should be conducted to ascertain how many people from the PDA community are being targeted for removal from the voter list in each assembly constituency, and this must be prevented at all costs.”
