Samrat Chaudhary announces Muzaffarpur Airport tender issued, construction to begin in 11 months
Patna. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary announced that he has approved a significant project to develop and upgrade Muzaffarpur Airport. This project will enable the existing airport to handle Code-2B aircraft. This project will include the construction of a pre-fabricated steel structure terminal building, a pre-engineered Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, a pre-engineered fire station, and other ancillary buildings and facilities. The entire project will be completed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. The estimated cost of the project is ₹28.58 crore. The construction period is set for 11 months. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has initiated the online e-tendering process for this project. Mr. Chaudhary stated, “The upgradation of Muzaffarpur Airport is an expansion of air services in North Bihar. This will provide a new impetus to regional connectivity, investment, and tourism.” Additionally, modern and improved air services will be provided to the people of North Bihar, creating new employment opportunities for local youth. This initiative will elevate Bihar to new heights in the aviation sector and play a crucial role in the state’s economic and social development. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Chaudhary stated, “The double-engine government, led by Modi at the center and Nitish Kumar in the state, is continuously working to make air services in Bihar world-class. Recently, Patna’s Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Airport has been revamped, while Gaya Airport has also been upgraded. Under the UDAN scheme in the state, the people of Bihar are benefiting from air services to various parts of the country from Darbhanga and Purnia airports. Now, the development of Muzaffarpur Airport will take this to new heights.” Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Chaudhary stated, “The double-engine government, led by Modi at the center and Nitish Kumar in the state, is continuously working to make air services in Bihar world-class.
