CM Nitish refused to wear Muslim cap on the stage

There has been a ruckus in a program of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Nitish refused to wear the cap. Many ministers of Nitish Kumar left the stage and ran away. Madrasa teachers created a ruckus on this occasion. Actually, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar attended a program of the State Madrasa Board on Thursday. During this, he was seen refusing to wear the cap given to him, after which the opposition questioned his secular credentials. This incident has given rise to political controversy ahead of the Bihar elections as Nitish has been seen wearing caps at Iftar parties and Islamic events before. This incident happened when Nitish attended the centenary celebrations of the State Madrasa Education Board in Patna. In the video going viral, a member of the board is initially seen trying to put a Muslim cap on Nitish’s head. However, the Chief Minister refuses and takes it in his hand. After posing for a photo on the stage, Bihar Minority Minister Zama Khan is again seen persuading Nitish to wear the cap. However, Nitish refuses and places the cap on Khan’s head. The development is significant as it comes just months before the Bihar assembly elections. Muslims constitute nearly 18% of the state’s population and hold sway in several seats. For the past few years, Nitish has been seen wearing the traditional pyala at iftar events. However, Nitish, who rejoined the NDA last year, did not wear the pyala at the iftar party held at his residence in March this year. His frequent switching of sides has earned him the title of “Paltu Chacha”. Recently, the JD(U)’s pragmatic politics has alienated a section of the Muslim community, especially after the party extended its support to the Waqf law, which extends government oversight over the management of waqf properties donated by Muslims.
