PM Narendra Modi increased rail budget for Karnataka nine times after 2014: Ashwini Vaishnaw
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday said Karnataka’s rail budget has increased from Rs 835 crore before 2014 to Rs 7,500 crore after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister. In his address after Prime Minister Modi flagged off the ‘Yellow Line’ of Bengaluru Metro, Vaishnaw said, “An important state like Karnataka was getting only Rs 835 crore before 2014. Thanks to Modi, it is now getting Rs 7,500 crore. Also, projects worth Rs 54,000 crore are underway in Karnataka. We are redeveloping 61 stations in the state under the Amrit Bharat Yojana.” According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) website, the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana is a long-term plan to upgrade railway stations in various phases. It includes plans to develop each station on a need-based basis. Vaishnav said India’s electronics sector has seen rapid growth in the last 11 years. “In the last 11 years, our electronics production has grown six-fold to Rs 12 lakh crore,” he said. He said exports have grown eight-fold to over Rs 3 lakh crore in the same period. “Eleven years ago, no one could have imagined that India would export electronics,” Vaishnav said. He said the entire country, including Karnataka, has benefited from Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to lay a strong foundation for a developed India 2047. ‘Developed India 2047’ is the Indian government’s vision to make the country developed by its independence centenary in 2047. “If India has become the second largest manufacturer of mobile phones in the world, Devanahalli in Namma Bengaluru is emerging as a major iPhone manufacturing hub,” Vaishnav said.
