Om Birla meets kin of Kota flood victims, instructs to take steps to prevent waterlogging

Kota-Bundi MP Om Birla on Wednesday visited rain-affected areas of Kota district and met the families of those who died either due to drowning or other reasons in the last few days. The Lok Sabha Speaker also took stock of the development work being done and tree plantation to prevent the entry of rainwater into residential areas. Birla first went to Ranpur area, where heavy rains have caused extensive damage. He visited the spot where a 27-year-old woman was swept away by a drain while crossing it on a scooter with a relative on Monday. Birla discussed the plan to divert water from Ranpur pond and Alaniya area to Chambal river to prevent waterlogging. He also directed officials to increase the capacity of drains.
