Amit Shah to lay foundation stone of cooperative university in Gujarat’s Anand

Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of India’s first national-level cooperative university to be built in Anand, Gujarat on Saturday. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary will also attend the event. Shah will perform the Bhoomi Pujan and lay the foundation stone of the country’s first national-level cooperative university, Tribhuvan Cooperative University (TSU), in Anand on July 5, 2025. An official statement said on Friday that the aim of setting up the university is to prepare professional and trained manpower to meet the growing needs of the cooperative sector. The university will facilitate specialized education, training and research in areas such as cooperative management, finance, law and rural development. Union Ministers of State for Cooperatives Krishan Pal Gurjar and Muralidhar Mohol will be present at the event along with Cooperative Secretary Ashish Kumar Bhutani. The statement said, this university will prove to be an important step towards realizing the triveni of cooperation, innovation and employment. Amit Shah will also participate in a tree plantation programme under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. He will also introduce an educational curriculum prepared by the National Centre for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to school students to familiarise them with the principles of co-operation and the impact of the co-operative movement in India.
