Jharkhand is facing the brunt of migration, anarchy, large-scale corruption: Nirmala Sitharaman

Ranchi. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday alleged that Jharkhand is bearing the brunt of rampant corruption, migration and lawlessness and a change in the state’s governance is the need of the hour. Sitharaman said in an event here that the allegations of step-motherly treatment towards Jharkhand are baseless. He said that through the revival of industries, Eastern India can become the engine of development of the country. The minister said, “Jharkhand used to be among the top five states in terms of ease of doing business but now there is ‘jungle raj’ here. If law and order improves, investment in the state will increase…Change in the governance of Jharkhand is the need of the hour.” He said, ”The (opposition’s) allegations of step-motherly treatment by the Prime Minister to the state are baseless. ..Jharkhand allocated a record Rs 7,200 crore for rail projects in the 2024-25 budget.
