Developing eastern India is very important for a developed India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 in Delhi, where he said that India’s Northeast is the most diverse part of the country and there have been major changes in this region in the last 11 years. He said at the summit that India is known as the most diverse nation in the world and our Northeast is the most diverse part of this diverse nation. From business to tradition, clothing to tourism, the diversity of the Northeast is its biggest strength. Modi said that today when I am on this grand platform of Rising Northeast, there is pride in my heart, there is intimacy and belongingness and most importantly, there is immense confidence about the future. Just a few months ago, we celebrated Ashtalakshmi Mahotsav here at Bharat Mandapam. Today we are celebrating investment in the North East here. Such a large number of industry leaders have come here. This shows that everyone is enthusiastic, excited and has new dreams about the Northeast. I congratulate all the ministries and the governments of all the states for this work. Your efforts have created a wonderful environment for investment there. The Prime Minister said that India is called the most diverse country in the world and our North East is the most diverse part of this diverse nation… The diversity of the North East is its biggest strength… Therefore, the North East is Ashtalakshmi for us. With this blessing of Ashtalakshmi, every state of the North East is saying, we are ready for investment, we are ready for leadership. He said that for the creation of a developed India, it is very important for Eastern India to develop. The North East is the most important part of Eastern India. For us, ‘EAST’ does not mean just a direction. For us, EAST means, ‘Empower, Act, Strengthen and Transform’. This is our government’s policy for Eastern India.
