PM Modi chaired a meeting with top military officials, Rajnath and Doval were also present
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired a high-level meeting with the top defense leadership to take stock of the security situation. Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Modi held a meeting with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, the chiefs of the three armies and the Chief of Defense Staff to formulate future strategy. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, while giving information to the media, said that Pakistan violated the country’s airspace to target Indian military installations on the intervening night of May 8 and 9. Singh said that Pakistan sent 300 to 400 drones to 36 places from Leh to Sir Creek on Thursday night to target India’s military installations. He said that the Indian Army shot down these drones. Earlier in the day, Modi held extensive talks with several former military officials, including former chiefs of the three armies, and took their feedback on the current situation.
