Telangana government to give Rs one crore each to kin of slain anti-Naxal commandos

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced a special ex-gratia of Rs one crore each to the kin of three commandos of Telangana Police’s anti-Naxal force Greyhounds, who were killed in landmine blasts by Maoists in Mulugu district recently. A press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office late on Friday said that Rs 80 lakh will be provided under the “Suraksha Yojana” along with allotment of a house site of 300 sq yard. The Chief Minister announced that an eligible member of the family will also be given a government job. The commandos were killed when a police team comprising Mulugu police and Greyhound units were searching the area and defusing landmines and bombs under the limits of Wajidu police station in the district at around 6 am on May 8.
