Uddhav is in a mood to leave Congress’s hand!
Many opposition parties led by Congress formed an alliance called India before the Lok Sabha elections. But this alliance could not show any magic either in the Lok Sabha elections or in the Maharashtra assembly elections. Before the Lok Sabha elections, this alliance used to have grand meetings in five-star hotels in big cities, but after that no meeting of this alliance has been called. It seems that the alliance formed to gain power has disintegrated as soon as the hopes of power were shattered. If seen, after the Lok Sabha elections, Congress had left the India alliance on its own. Due to this, during the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, this alliance disintegrated in the state when the Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP left it and after the election results, Congress got a shock when the National Conference refused to give it the desired ministerial post. As a result, Congress had to stay out of the state government. Similarly, during the Jharkhand assembly elections, this alliance narrowly escaped breaking. Now elections are to be held in Bihar and there too it is believed that the Rashtriya Janata Dal will not give Congress the seats it demands. Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has also shocked Congress by not giving any seat during the Uttar Pradesh assembly by-elections and now he is talking about taking his PDA forward instead of India alliance. Similarly, Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress has also been keeping distance from this India alliance from the beginning. The alliance of Aam Aadmi Party and Congress has also broken up during the Delhi assembly elections. In this way, if you look at the list of parties included in this opposition alliance, you will find that now all are keeping distance from Congress and are also silent about the future of this alliance. But now this silence is breaking. The first to break this silence has been Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (Ubatha). Uddhav Thackeray’s party has said that Congress should talk about the status of ‘India’ alliance and should have answered questions about the opposition alliance in the recent convention of the party in Ahmedabad. Shiv Sena (Ubatha) said in an editorial in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’ that the Congress only talked about itself in the party convention in Ahmedabad and ‘India’ or Bharat was nowhere in discussion. The party said, “Questions are being raised on what is the status of the ‘India’ alliance after the Lok Sabha elections. Congress should have considered this in its Ahmedabad convention.” Shiv Sena (Ubatha) questioned, “What happened to the alliance? Did it get buried in the ground or vanished in the air? It is the responsibility of the Congress President to answer this question.”
