Meeting of Congress leaders of Kerala amid controversy related to Tharoor

The Congress leadership held a meeting with senior leaders of the state on Friday amid controversy related to some statements of party MP Shashi Tharoor, in which the state of the organization, preparations for the assembly elections and some other points were discussed. This meeting held at the Congress headquarters ‘Indira Bhavan’ was attended by party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former president Rahul Gandhi along with party organization general secretary KC Venugopal, general secretary and Lok Sabha member from Wayanad Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, state in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi, state Congress Committee president K. Sudhakaran, Lok Sabha member Shashi Tharoor and many other senior leaders of the state. The meeting of Congress leaders of Kerala is important in the sense that these days there is speculation about the displeasure of party MP and senior leader Shashi Tharoor. A controversy has arisen over the recent article written in a newspaper by Tharoor, Lok Sabha member from Thiruvananthapuram. In this article, he has praised the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government for promoting the investment environment in Kerala. Due to this, he is on the target of some leaders of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee. Tharoor recently met Rahul Gandhi and it is believed that he put his point before him. Former Union Minister Tharoor had called the news published in a newspaper fake, in which he was quoted as saying that if the Congress does not need his service, then he has other options as well. Congress is the main opposition party in Kerala. Assembly elections are likely to be held in the state in March-April next year.
